The S 580e 4MATIC features a hybrid drive system, combining an advanced 3.0L I-6 six-cylinder engine and 21.5kWh battery with the performance of a powerful 148 horsepower electric motor for an unbeatable total power output of 510 horsepower – all without sacrificing fuel efficiency or emissions.
The all-electric range for the latest S 580e 4MATICl has been improved to 62 miles, as acknowledged by WLTP, almost doubling that of its predecessor. Its peak torque is 369 lb-ft – available instantly – gives the vehicle increased agility and dynamic driving performance. With a top speed of 130 mph in ELECTRIC drive program – after which soft limitation kicks in – this enhanced design also offers daily advantages, with an accessible through-loading facility from the luggage compartment, unlike previous models.
Owners can charge their S 580e 4MATIC quickly and conveniently with the optional 60 kW DC charger. Capable of boosting battery capacity from 10% to 80% in a mere 20 minutes, drivers can get back on the road without delay. 9.6kW charging is also included standard for easy at-home or public top-ups.
